Where are yours? In your closet? The attic? Under the bed? In the trash, long ago?Old photographs from a time when print was the only option. A time capsule. Some cringe-worthy if found by anyone else. So why do we keep them?
Because just like that old sweater we will never likely wear again, we just can’t bear to let them go. They represents a memory- the good, the bad, the ugly- they led us to who we are today.
Letters, trinkets, souvenirs. . . memories. We hold them in our hands and in that moment, we are transported back to that time.
Eventually, we return them to their designated spot- knowing very well we will revisit them for years to come.
Remembering who we were. Recognizing what we’ve become.
